its a know fact Facebook has been selling user-info to corporations for years. the only reason the media is up and arms is beacuse one of the corporations used the info to promote donald trump.

>The average congressional committee member is striving so hard for good reelection campaign soundbites right now that they are making Z U C C look charismatic by comparison
Honestly its an achievement
>>
>>244767
the reason the media is up in arms is because faceberg might have sold campaign data to russians, and the russia scandal is all anyone wants to talk about at the moment. can't wait until this meme presidency is over so we can get real news again instead of the reality tv show that is the current administration
>>
>>244942
lol are you fucking kidding me? all news now is farce they just want rating they dont give a shit about anything else
cnn loves the trump presidency
>>
>>244939
are you this retarded or just trolling?
lol, no, it is literally their business model.
why do you think it is free for users?
this whole senate hearing is about how a business obtained so much facebook user information
>>

The problem is using social media to sell an ideology, not a product, and disguising it as something organic instead of paid for, which is exactly what Cambridge Analytica was doing. I have no objection to being targeted and sold a product, but trying to influence people politically is completely fucked up.
>>
>>244972
It's not about their business model, faggot. It's about the fact that you thought Facebook only became problematic, because of Trump being elected, which is positively moronic.

This was a full-blown scandal with or without Trump involved. Bannon's part only exacerbates the issue. But then again Dotard won with help from Russia and CA, so his part would always be relevant news-wise.

So a corporation's service that people signed up for let another corp. use their data. But a Corp. that some people did not sign up for lost their fucking SS # 's and people don't give a shit. Oh and corp. # 2 basically let every goddam person in USA SS# out to hackers.

This wouldn't even be a thing if Hillary had won. It's only a scandal because Republicans got the data too. They wouldn't be giving zero fucks any Russia at all right now if Trump had lost.
>>
>>245012
Of course it wouldn't be an issue if Hillary had won, because the elections then wouldn't have been influenced on this massive scale. At least in theory. That's the entire point.
>>
>>245001
News networks have been doing this for the better part of two decades m80, just not on facebook. Nobody gave a shit until trump became involved.
>>
>>245012
>>245015
Also the Republicans would still have had congress. That means in theory, they could have launched whatever they want, and Hillary could have obstructed as she wanted. Or not. And they still wouldn't have found anything or launched any investigation, just as the current administration is doing. That's the beauty of a whataboutism. It goes both ways.
>>
>>245018
This is much more sophisticated than telling old people that their generation was great, that young people are lazy, and then peddling gold and adult diapers on commercial breaks.

Most big networks are owned by the same companies anon. All of them are politically aligned in some way.
>Jimmy Kimmel coming out on stage with crocodile tears during the school shooting, calling for gun control as the corpses still lay warm

It has nothing to do with Trump or even USA. At some degree it's not even about facebook.
It is about a company that bought data with the only intention to sell their service, beeing to infulence elections, to the highest bidders. This company is specialized in that particular sector.
Parties from all over the world have links with that said company. Facebook is not only under pressure from the congress but from leaders of a bunch of countries. This is much bigger than last USA election.
I know how much you'd like to paint Trump as a victim but it's not about him.

i hope law makers pass new legislation which serves the sole purpose of prosecuting zuckerberg for a class A felony

the worst part of the fake news isn't the fake news but the anti intellectual sentiments underneath. So much is fake that instead of fact checking and research it is easier to call anything you don't immediately agree with fake and move on. Trying to find real information is made even harder, and nobody knows who or what to trust and believe. Everything is politicized now, and the entire poltocal climate will gladly discredit any information which might be politically "on the wrong side" regardless of its origin. I just want to know what is going on sometimes without sifting through "soy" or "cuck" or having to detach myself from everything in case what I am reading isn't real or written in a way as to manipulate

zuckerberg should just turn over Hillarys 33,000 deleted emails

This will bring about more net neutrality. That's the only reason for this.
